We implemented sustainable practices at Glen Eden Beach Resort, with a particular focus on solar power and rainwater collection, demonstrating our commitment to a greener future.

Through the installation of solar panels, we are able to generate a portion of our electricity needs from clean, renewable sources. This not only reduces our carbon footprint but also helps to minimize our reliance on fossil fuels. The solar powers all our common areas: reception including lighting, air conditioning, all pool pumps and pool heaters. Our solar systems require minimal maintenance, ensuring a consistent and reliable source of energy without any noise or visual pollution. This enables us to provide a peaceful and sustainable retreat for our guests to enjoy.

We have also implemented a rainwater collection system to capture and store rainwater for various purposes. This collected water is then utilized for activities such as irrigation and landscaping, significantly reducing our reliance on the main water supply. This helps us to offset the demand for tap water and reduces the strain on local water resources. All guest amenities are provided in bulk packaging to reduce plastic waste. We also use toilet paper which is PEFC certified and made from sustainable sources. 

We actively promote education and awareness among our team, guests, and the local community. By fostering a sense of environmental responsibility, we hope to create a ripple effect that extends beyond our resort.
